Our Junior Senior Student Council were invited to make a presentation at the Rethink Symposium – Edmonton, March 14, 2017. These young leaders spoke to teachers and administrators from across Alberta about what great things are happening with our student leadership at Warburg School!
*UPDATE: Our students were once again asked to present at the Symposium! This is the second year that Student Council has been invited to participate in the Leader in Me Symposium in Edmonton, on Feb. 14th,m 2018. They will be doing a one hour presentation, to educators from all over Alberta, about all the ways Warburg School shows leadership. A few of the students will even get to sit on a Q&A panel made up of a dozen students from around the Edmonton Area, so that educators can ask them questions about Leader in Me and their school. They were asked to return because they were such a hit with the educators that attended last year. They are looking forward to participating in this province wide event.
Congratulations to Lauren Pizzey for receiving the Warburg Community Youth Volunteer of the Year (2017). Lauren was presented the award by Mrs. Maltais at the Warburg Volunteer Appreciation Night on April 29th, 2017. This awesome student has a list of volunteer experience including, but not limited to: Coaching school basketball teams, delivering parcels for Christmas Elves. She achieves high academic standing at school and is a courteous and helpful person. A wonderful example of student leadership at our school.
