Christmas is coming rapidly upon us, that is to say that special time of year which is given to family and friends as well as exchanging gifts, especially giving gifts to children. As we all know we generally are very fortunate. Unfortunately, there are many children who receive very little or nothing for Christmas.
This year as part of the Warburg School Christmas we would like to again provide gifts to the less fortunate and assist local families in need. Our program supplies gifts to children ranging in ages from newborn to teens. As we have in the past we would love, if possible, to see a book to accompany the gift you are giving. Literacy plays such a large role in the development of our children. Our goal is to have as many children as possible have access to books in their homes.
Again, there will be an angel tags on our tree at school. Students are asked to select a tag from our Angel Tree. After they have purchased the gift please tape the angel to the top of the unwrapped gift. Some gifts will be delivered to our local families through Warburg FCSS, as well as the Salvation Army. These gifts will be wrapped, and then picked up or delivered directly to the homes.
Last year, our school contributed an unbelievable number of gifts. We definitely are, “ THE SMALL SCHOOL WITH A BIG HEART”.
As a staff we feel that this program is an awesome way to show our compassion and generosity. Thank you for considering this opportunity to help out families who are experiencing hardships this Christmas season.
PLEASE NOTE THE DEADLINE FOR DROPPING OF GIFTS IS DECEMBER 12th. Pick up is December 13th.

Have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year,
Warburg School Staff
Frequently asked questions:
How many toys are given to a child?
They attempt to give an assortment of toys to each child by providing them with: one main toy, a secondary toy, one game or puzzle, one coloring books and crayons, one reading book, several stocking stuffers, and a plush toy (for applicable groups).
Can we give used toys?
They only give new toys out at Christmas.
Should I wrap the toys?
No, but feel free to supply the gift wrap and ribbons and if you wish a blank card. When they give out the toys to the parents, they offer wrapping paper if it is available. The Salvation Army is required to unwrap all the gifts to ensure that each child receives toys of equal value. This is especially important where there are a number of children in the same family.
Is there a money limit for the gift?
Because everything is left unwrapped the people at the Salvation Army/Warburg FCSS will group the gifts according to their value. So the answer is no, anything and everything is great.
What are some gift ideas for teens?
Cozy blankets, $20 or $25 dollar gift cards itunes, Subway, Walmart, or movie theatre passes. Items like hair products, sports equipment or even more mature toys like Lego or remote-control cars for the younger teens are also appropriate.
